About Barcelona Cable Car (Port Cable Car)

The Barcelona Cable Car (Port Cable Car) starts at Sant Sebastià Tower next to Barceloneta Beach and offers great panoramic views of the harbour, port and city along with several of Barcelona's famous landmarks below, including the Sagrada Familia, as it soars above the city and climbs up to the cable car station on Montjuïc hill!

It's official name is the 'Transbordador Aeri del Port' and the ride takes just under 10-minutes to climb the 1-mile cable. It starts at the Sant Sebastià Tower next to Barceloneta Beach, it travels through (but doesn't stop at) 'Torre del Jaume I', which is like a half-way-point, and then ends the journey at 'Estación de Miramar' which is on Montjuïc hill where you can get out and enjoy the views and attractions on the famous hill!

The cable car doesn't have any seats, so its standing room only, which means you can also move around in the cabin to change your view as you continue to climb! You can see landmarks including Port Vell, the World Trade Centre, Sagrada Familia, the Columbus Monument and Las Ramblas amongst others.

Once you arrive on Montjuïc hill you can enjoy the views it offers of the city, especially from the Miramar Gardens viewpoint or the different attractions that Montjuic hill offers including Poble Espanyol, the very popular open-air museum.
